Intense Pulsed Light IPL machine for skin rejuvenation, sometimes referred to as IPL photo rejuvenation, is a non-invasive treatment primarily used to revive your skin and improves its elasticity by encouraging collagen and elastin growth. Treatment involves directing the IPL light energy into the required layers of the skin. The application of light and heat stimulates the skin healing process and encourages the production of collagen. Bestview Laser is a professional IPL photofacial machine manufacturer, we have IPL hair removal machine for sale. As well as stimulating collagen production, the other concerns treated with the use of the intense pulsed light is the reduction of any visible skin imperfections, including pigmentation and redness, to give you a youthful appearance. We know the impact of spending many years in the sun. Excessive sun exposure can result in a variety of skin issues that make you look older than you are or feel, which can cause a loss of self-confidence about your appearance. However, we have a variety of treatments to improve both your appearance and self-confidence. One procedure that does this safely and effectively is an IPL Photofacial. An IPL photofacial, or Intense Pulsed Light, is a broad-band source of light used for photorejuvenation to improve a variety of skin conditions. It’s a simple 10-30 minute process (depending on the areas being treated), that is both non-invasive and effective. Although termed a photofacial, IPL treatment is effective for the face as well as other parts of the body, including your: Hands. Arms. Neck. Chest.
An IPL Photofacial is gentle enough for results that make your skin look refreshed and rejuvenated. Specifically, it does the following:
1.Reduces pigmented spots
2.Minimizes facial wrinkles and fine lines
3.Shrinks pores
4.Eliminates spider veins
5.Improves skin redness and flushing
6.Stimulates collagen production
7.Smooths skin texture
The overall result of an IPL treatment is firmer, brighter, more resilient skin.
What to expect of IPL photofacial
An IPL photofacial requires almost no downtime and results can be seen within a few days post-treatment. While there are minimal side effects with an IPL treatment, some patients may experience swelling, redness, tenderness, and discomfort, but this should resolve in 1-2 days. Dark spots may crust up with a coffee grounds appearance. However, these will gently exfoliate from the skin surface over 4-7 days.
IPL photofacial recovery:
With minimal downtime, you can resume normal activities, but it’s advisable to avoid direct sun exposure. Some individuals may notice immediate results, while optimal outcomes typically emerge in the days and weeks following the treatment as your skin undergoes a rejuvenation process. Practitioners will provide personalized post-treatment care instructions to ensure your comfort and satisfaction.
When getting IPL for rosacea, expect the skin to be very red immediately after your IPL treatment. The redness caused from your IPL treatment will subside in about 24-hours, but for some it can last a little longer. It imperative to ice as instructed to help prevent swelling. Icing immediately after treatment is the only way to prevent swelling. Once your treated area swells, it will remain swollen, and you will have to wait for it to dissipate on its own. You don’t want to do anything that will raise your core body temperature, so no exercise, hot tubs, saunas, hot yoga, etc. until all of the redness had subsided (at most a few days).
Does IPL treatment for dry eyes?
When MGD is the cause of dry eyes, evidence suggests that IPL treatments work well for short durations. Still, when compared to other treatments, such as eyelid scrubs, artificial tears, or warm compresses, IPLs effect on dry eye has shown longer-lasting relief. In a 2021 study of over 100 participants, researchers found that IPL therapy provided effective treatment for MGD, an underlying cause of dry eyes. It was found to clinically improve symptoms and eye function.
Procedure and process:
IPL therapy is performed as an outpatient procedure in an optometrist’s office. They use a handheld device with a filter to perform the procedure. Here’s what you can expect during your procedure, though some things may vary by location:
1.Before starting the IPL treatment, the doctor or tech will place protective goggles or glasses over the eyes.
2.With the eye protection in place, they’ll rub a cooling gel over the area where they’ll apply the IPL.
3.Your doctor will then place the IPL device over the eyelids and use the light to melt the buildup that’s blocking the oil glands.
4.Once your meibomian glands have opened, your doctor may attempt to express a small amount of oil to stimulate the natural production of oil in the eyes.
5.You should talk with your doctor about any specific questions regarding how they perform the procedure.
Who is IPL skin rejuvenation suitable for?
IPL treatment is suitable for most people over the age of 18 concerned with their skin’s appearance. Particularly in the case of conditions like uneven skin discolouration, fine lines and wrinkles, skin redness from rosacea and acne, as well as hyperpigmentation. It is used as an all over treatment for the face, neck or decolletage to create a smoother and more even skin tone. IPL skin rejuvenation can also be used for general anti-ageing, as the stimulation of new collagen elastin will assist in delaying any visible signs of ageing caused by loss of elasticity and skin firmness. However, you must discuss your medical history with a practitioner before treatment to determine if you are a healthy and suitable candidate.
Who is not a suitable candidate for IPL skin rejuvenation treatment?
If you have taken oral Roaccutance in the last 6 months we recommend waiting before undergoing any IPL treatment. If you have experienced a history of severe eczema, seizures or active infections, you may also not be suitable for IPL treatment. Those who are pregnant, breastfeeding or have very dark skin may not find IPL as a treatment suitable for them. If your practitioner recommends you should not attempt light therapy, it is best to follow their instructions for your wellbeing. Other less common contraindications will be discussed with your practitioner during a consultation.

IPL aftercare advice from photofacial professionals
Immediately after an IPL photofacial, you can expect some skin redness, though this usually subsides within the first week. Patients can expect to see full results a month after their last IPL treatment. IPL Photofacial is a great treatment to help with uneven pigmentation due to sun damage or benign brown spots, redness due to rosacea, uneven texture, large pores, facial vessels, skin tone and laxity. However, in order for your IPL Photofacial to yield the best possible results for your skin, you’ll need to make sure you follow important aftercare recommendations. Here are the tips from experienced IPL Photofacial professionals about how to take care of your skin after your IPL treatment:
Immediately After Treatment:
1.Ice immediately after your IPL treatment for approximately 30 minutes. After that you will need to ice 10 to 15 mins of every hour for the first 3 hours.
2.The night of your treatment, professionals recommend sleeping with an extra pillow under your head to prevent swelling.
3.You can begin washing your face the evening of your treatment. Wash the treated area with a gentle cleanser and warm water (not hot water) twice a day, and pat dry. We recommend the Obagi Nu-Derm Gentle Cleanser.
4.Make sure you only apply make up after all the redness has subsided from your treatment.
Keep in mind that having a mild sunburn sensation is normal for the first couple of hours after treatment, but some people report having this feeling for as long as a couple of days post treatment.
Do’s:
Do hydrate! Use a moisturizer twice a day to keep the treated area well hydrated, do not allow it to become dry. And use an SPF. Your skin can feel drier than usual following treatment, and it’s not uncommon to have some redness/irritation afterward. Keeping your skin well hydrated will help to prevent any itching caused by dryness. While many think that hydrating the skin will prolong the shedding process, that is not the case. You want to keep the skin as hydrated as possible, since the more hydrated the skin the quicker the skin will heal, and thus purging the dark spots. Though this advice might sound counterintuitive, trust the professionals that hydrating your skin will help the process move much faster.
Dont’s:
1.DON’T exfoliate too soon.
Avoid exfoliation for one week post-IPL (which includes scrubs, acids, retinols/vitamin A, and powered cleansing brushes). IPL causes the brown spots/sun damage to darken, and they will become crusty and flake off on their own. If you pick or exfoliate these darkened areas before they are ready to come off, you run the risk of hypopigmentation. The darkened areas on the face will typically shed in about seven to ten days, but the body does take much longer to purge these dark spots–as long as four to six weeks.
2.DON’T scratch or pick the darkened areas
This is always tempting, but you risk hypopigmentation if you try to pick at the darkened areas too soon.
3.DON’T take super hot showers or baths for 48-hours after treatment.
4.DON’T expose yourself to the sun without protection for at least 4-6 weeks, although we would recommend trying to stay protected in the sun all the time, since you have just spent the money to have your brown spots removed.
After Brown Spots Have Shed:
Once all of the brown spots have shed, you can resume your normal skincare regimen, but we would recommend adding a medical grade Vitamin C serum to your regimen in the morning. Vitamin C recommendations: Skinceutical-CE Ferulic; Obagi C Clarifying Serum or iS Clincal Pro Heal Serum. However, which vitamin C product you should use will depend on your skin type, so make sure to consult your IPL professional pre- or post-treatment.
Example of a great morning skincare routine:
Cleanse and then use your preferred Vitamin C product in the morning followed by a moisturizer such as SkinCeuticals Metacell Renewal. Vitamin C will further help to lighten pigmentation and tightened the skin. Follow the vitamin c with a good moisturizer and SPF.
Example of a great nighttime skincare routine:
Cleanse, use a tretinoin or retinol product (Obagi tretinoin .05 or .1% or Karin Herzog Vita-a-Kombi oil) and moisturize if your skin is dry.
Always use an SPF of at least 30 every day and reapply as needed. The professionals recommend Elta MD Clear SPF 45, which helps to diminish redness and discoloration. To further protect your investment, we recommend reapplying sunscreen throughout the day. The good news is you don’t have to smear a cream over your make-up in order to reapply your sunscreen. We recommend using brush-on shield SPF 50. So instead of using powder to touch up your make up, use this tinted dust-on sunscreen. It’s a two-in-one and comes in several shades.
